Galvanized Electrical Conduits EMT UL797 Steel Round Galvanized Pipe

Galvanized Electrical Metallic Tubing (EMT) is a thin-walled metal conduit designed for electrical line protection and is widely used in commercial buildings, industrial facilities and residential electrical systems.

    Product Introduction

Galvanized Electrical Metallic Tubing (EMT) is a widely used metal conduit system designed to protect electrical wires and cables. Manufactured from high-quality carbon steel with a hot-dip galvanized coating, EMT offers superior corrosion resistance and durability. This lightweight metal conduit is easy to cut, bend, and install, making it an ideal choice for commercial and industrial electrical wiring.

    Key Features:

    - High-strength, lightweight structure (30% lighter than traditional steel pipes with comparable strength)
    - Hot-dip galvanized surface for long-lasting corrosion protection
    - Easy fabrication (punching, bending, etc.)
    - Excellent EMI shielding for sensitive electrical equipment
    - Smooth interior for effortless wire pulling
    - Compliant with international electrical safety standards.

    International Standards

EMT pipe is manufactured in accordance with the latest edition of the following:
    •  American National Standard for Rigid Steel EMT (ANSI® C80.3)
    • Underwriters Laboratories Standard for EMT-Steel (UL797)
    • National Electric Code® 2002 Article 358 (1999 NEC® Article 348)

    Production Process

EMT's production process is the core of its quality, especially the hot-dip galvanizing process, which directly determines the corrosion resistance and service life of the product. Regular manufacturers usually use strict hot-dip galvanizing process. The whole process includes three stages: pre-treatment, hot-dip galvanizing and post-treatment, involving more than ten fine processes. Each step requires precise control of parameters to ensure the quality of the final product.

    Applications & Advantages

    Primary Applications
✔ Commercial buildings (offices, malls, hotels)

Q1:EMT vs PVC – which is better?

A1: EMT offers superior mechanical protection, fire resistance, EMI shielding, and longevity. PVC is cheaper but less durable.

Q2: How long does galvanized EMT last?

A2: 30+ years indoors, 15–20 years in moderate corrosion environments.

Q3: How to check zinc coating quality?

A3: Look for uniform coating (no bare spots), smooth surface (minimal drips), ≥35μm thickness, and no peeling when bent.

Q4: Can EMT be used outdoors?

A4: Yes, but in highly corrosive areas (coastal), use additional protection or stainless steel.

Q5: What tools are needed for EMT installation?

A5: Tube cutters, benders, reamers, screwdrivers, and wrenches. Professionals may use hydraulic benders and fish tapes.

Q6:Is EMT suitable for direct burial?

No – use heavy-duty corrosion-resistant conduits or PVC for underground applications.

Q7: How to properly ground EMT systems?

A7: Ensure tight couplings for continuity, bond to ground bus bars via clamps/jumpers in panels.

Q8: Do you offer custom EMT specifications?

A8: Yes – custom lengths, wall thicknesses, zinc coatings, and fittings (MOQ: 5 tons).
