ASTM A992 ASTM A572 Wide Flange H Shape Steel Beam For Construction

H-beam (also known as H-beam or wide flange beam) is a type of structural steel with an I-shaped cross-section. This type of steel is widely used in the construction and engineering fields due to its high strength to weight ratio, versatility and convenient construction characteristics.

    Production technology

H-shaped steel can be produced by welding or rolling. Welding H-shaped steel is to cut the appropriate thickness of the strip to the appropriate width, and weld the flange and web together in the continuous welding set. Welding H-shaped steel has the disadvantages of large metal consumption, difficult to ensure uniform product performance, and limited size specifications. Therefore, H-shaped steel is mainly produced by rolling method. In modern steel rolling production, the universal mill is used to roll H-shaped steel. The web plate of H-shaped steel is rolled between the upper and lower horizontal rolls, and the flange is simultaneously rolled between the side of the horizontal roll and the vertical roll.

    Main Types

    (1)Wide Flange Beams (W-Beams):

Flanges are wider than the web, providing better load distribution.

Commonly used in building frames and bridges.

    (2)Junior Beams (S-Beams):

    Narrower flanges compared to W-beams.

    Used in lighter structural applications.

    (3)Pile Beams (HP-Beams):

Flanges and web have similar thickness, making them ideal for deep foundation piles.

    Product advantage

(1)High strength bearing capacity: optimized section design, excellent bending and compressive resistance
(2)Construction efficiency: standardized size, reduce on-site processing costs
(3)Environmental protection and energy saving: recyclable, in line with green building standards
(4)Corrosion resistance: optional galvanized or spray treatment, suitable for harsh environment

    Applications of Steel H Beams

    (1) Construction:H-shaped steel beams are often used in construction for structural frames, roof beams, staircase frames, etc., with strong bearing capacity and good stability. It supports large-span structures, making the building structure more solid and safe.

    (2) Bridges:In bridge engineering, H-shaped steel beams are used for main beams, bridge towers and abutments, with high bending stiffness and light weight. Its high bearing capacity and stiffness ensure the safety and stability of the bridge structure.

    (3) Infrastructure: H-shaped steel beams are often used in the brackets and frame structures of machinery manufacturing equipment, as well as the main beams and secondary beams of industrial plants. It is also suitable for manufacturing engineering machinery such as lifting machinery and trucks, and as equipment brackets to support and fix various equipment
